2024 Boston Celtics

The 2023-24 Boston Celtics went 64-18 and lost only three games in the entire playoffs, beating Dallas in five for the franchise's record 18th title. Jaylen Brown won Finals MVP, edging teammate Jayson Tatum. One offseason of trades for Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday turned a good team into the clear favorite.

Boston had the best season in the league by a wide margin, winning 64 games and finishing 14 clear in the East. Brad Stevens, now running the front office, added Porzingis for spacing and rim protection and Holiday for guard defense.

The Celtics were nearly untouchable in the playoffs. They went 16-3, never trailed in a series, and beat Miami, Cleveland, and Indiana before the Finals. Tatum and Brown led the scoring, with Derrick White and Holiday hitting timely threes.

Dallas had Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving but little around them. Boston won the first three games and closed it out in five. Brown took Finals MVP after also winning the conference finals MVP award.

The 18th banner moved Boston past the Lakers for the most titles in league history. Porzingis returned from a calf injury to provide a lift in the Finals, and Al Horford, in his 17th season, won a ring for the first time.
